Leadership training expert Jay Little discusses where leadership and sustainability intersect.

Brene Brown defines a leader as someone who “takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who dares to develop that potential.”

She invites leadership to dare to be brave leaders by leading with wholehearted leadership and self-awareness by embracing vulnerability and courage cultures. (Oct 30, 2018)

To build courage in teams and organizations, daring leaders must cultivate a culture in which brave work, tough conversations, and whole hearts exist. In other words, courage is how leaders behave and show up in difficult situations, which ultimately strengthens care and connection between leaders and their team members.[1]

Sustainable leadership is when leaders of organizations (often CEOs) manage with the environment, society, and long-term sustainable development goals in mind. Oftentimes, it’s referred to as PPP, or the triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.

Without a shift in the mindset of leaders, social and environmental responsibility is hard to enforce. Through sustainable leadership, the changes necessary for creating a better world with equality for all are much more likely to occur.[2]

Our conversation today is with leadership Training specialist Jay Little, who shares his leadership views that incorporate the needs of those who are being led and those leading. Listen and consider.
