I can remember when an application was for filling out for employment, and a program was a TV show. Memory was something you lose with age, and a CD was a bank account.
I love intergenerational conversations about then and now, perhaps because I believe life is a process, not an event, a journey, not a destination. However, we also know that events shape values, shape behavior, and trends change over time.
This week we hear from another group of Voices from the Future”. Voices that expand our appreciation that who they have become result from the events, stories they have been told, and the ones they have told themselves. They confirm these stories have impacted their behavior, thoughts, and dreams.
We welcome to the table three members of the Millennial generation. Millennials can be described as those young people who reached adulthood in the 21st century. They present as family-centric, achievement-oriented, team-oriented, crave attention, and are prone to job-hopping.
Among other things in this episode, they explain why they do not believe in voice mail, why bullying and its impact are a matter of perspective, and why social media is valuable and dangerous.
