I had to go away for a while. I was losing focus. I was listening to the voice of numbers. The number of “likes,” “comments,” and “shares” became the main objective of my blog. I wanted lots; I wanted more. I had forgotten why I do what I do.
Shame on me!
It took me a while to recognize and say, “Yes” to God’s purpose for me. And when I finally did, my tears dried, my burdens were unloaded, and my joy was restored. I walked out of my lonely wilderness and into my worthiness. However, the critical success factor for sustainability was faith. And uncommon miracles require uncommon faith. Faith is the only voice God respects. And faith comes when you hear God talk. Where was my faith? Had I stopped listening?
When I began to write my blog in March 2015, my microphone was my testimony. My stage was my worthiness. My message was about the power and provision of God’s grace. My script embodied statements like: “You are not alone.” “Be encouraged.” “Have faith after failure to try again.” “You are meant for more.” “Yes, you can!” “You are worthy!” “You are courageous.” “You are enough.”
My audience was you! I met many versions of you. Some of you wore masks, some of you hid your secrets in fatigue and addictions. Some of you were wondering, “Is this all there is?” Others of you wanted me to hear the conversation hidden in your silence. My commitment was to be there for you, to listen intentionally, to empower, to encourage, to support you without judgement.
But here’s the thing, as much as I love you, I have been preoccupied. I am sorry.
However, the repositioning power in the sitting room of my soul never fails me. I questioned my spiritual mirror about what was happening with me. I asked,
- “Why are you, you?”
- “Which is worse, failing or trying?”
- “What enemy are you trying to conquer?”
- “To what degree have you controlled the course your life has taken?”
- “Why not let go and let God?”
Because sometimes asking the right question is the answer. My focus has been restored. It is no longer about the numbers, it is about you, keeping my promised about what I give to you.
And so, I begin again standing on renewed faith. Stay tuned.
Until next time, remember,-
You are not alone.
-
You are not your circumstances.
-
You have everything within you to live a purpose-filled life.
