Who do you see in the mirror?

cal-0814-cl3-emotions-10

Who you see is based on how you feel about who you are.

Blogger Marc Chernoff says, “You can be the most amazing human being in the world and everyone sees rays of light, love and genius when they look at you. But if you yourself don’t know it, all of that external admiration doesn’t matter one bit.”

It was like Marc had read the script of my life. I saw a reflection that said successful but unfulfilled, affiliated but not connected, living the life I should, and not the life I wanted. My reflection didn’t look like the person others seemed to think I was. It took me some time to realize that what was askew was not my image but my state of mind. My perspective was out of balance. I needed to move from self-doubt to self-love and live my life from a place of worthiness. Someone else smarter than me said, “It takes a short time to deliver a baby out of a woman, but much longer to deliver the woman out of the baby.”

I have shared with you in earlier blogs the necessity to believe you are worthy, to make life-saving connections, and to embrace the power, provision and protection of the grace within you. When you have done this, you will be closer to your created great intent and design. You will discover how to feed both your passions and your talents. You will model behaviors so others know how to treat you and you will be present in the only moment that is guaranteed to you.

Here are five additional steps to help you sustain a balanced perspective.

Step One: Be grateful. It is no accident you are here. Think of the 250 million sperm that fought to make sure you became you. You came here a winner, a survivor, strong and determined. Now be who you are.

Step Two: Accept life as ordinary and magnificent as a sunrise. Stop, relax and look around at all of the gifts you received without your asking. Celebrate your joy and share your abundance.

Step Three: Don’t confuse your circumstances with with who you are and your purpose in life. Remember you are enough!

Step Four: Love yourself unconditionally. In the midst of a storm, give yourself permission to be vulnerable and to reach out and ask for help. Healing begins with the asking.

Step Five: Learn to let go of the past. We live in time and time is limited, so make today count. Deposit the good stuff you have learned into others. Live your legacy now.

I invite you to join the conversation. This is your place. Like, comment and share your thoughts. You are important!

    Until next time, remember,
  • You are not alone.
  • You are not your circumstances.
  • You have everything within you to live a purpose-filled life.
