Did you look under PROTECTION, adjacent to PROVIDER, close to KEEPER OF THE REMOTE CONTROL, disguised as SANTA CLAUS, within YOUR HEART? However, sometimes Daddy can only be found in a WARM, LOVING, and SPECIAL MEMORY.
He moves around a lot. He has a lot to do when he is about his work. He hurts when you hurt, finds joy in your laughter, and wishes you all the blessings you deserve. He will answer to Daddy, Poppo, Pops, Dad, Papa, and even “Bald Mommy”. Whoever plays the role and earns the title of a father in your life is a blessing. YET, if you miss the love of your earthly father, rest assured you are never without the love of your Heavenly Father.
Search “fatherhood” on the web and you’ll find dozens of websites dedicated to teaching, encouraging, and supporting men to become more nurturing and involved fathers. Most people have personalized opinions about fathers.
Elton John says, “I love every minute of fatherhood, staying up all night, changing nappies, kids crying, I find it really funny and inspiring. It connects you to the world in a new way.
Stephen Colbert says, “A father has to be a provider, a teacher, a role model, but most importantly, a distant authority figure who can never be pleased. Otherwise, how will children ever understand the concept of God?”
Tyra Garlington says, ” A father is one of the most important people in society. He can populate a nation. Evidence of his power exists in the fact that some of us who have not experienced the love, protection, and provision of our earthly father have problems trusting the love, protection, and provision of our Heavenly Father.”
Max Lucado, a preacher with a storyteller’s gift—a pastor’s heart and a poet’s pen shares a special tribute to all fathers below:
“Dear God,
Thanks for giving me a daddy. You knew just what I’d need! In case you need to make daddies for other kids, I thought you might like to know what I like best about the one you sent me:
A good dad …
1. Knows everything (like how to tie shoes and drive a car)
2. Is really smart (he even knows where the wind goes after it blows through the trees)
3. Has a forgiving heart (for when I mess up)
4. Is loaded with patience, patience, patience (he probably won’t need it, but just in case…)
5. Has a comfy lap and a big laugh (you understand about that, don’t you?)
6. Tells me all about you and your son.
Your friend,
P.S. I almost left out the best part! A good dad has really strong arms (to catch me when I fall)”
Happy Father’s Day!
Until next time, remember,
-
You are not alone.
-
You are not your circumstances.
-
You have everything within you to live a purpose-filled life.
