Billy Graham says, “The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.”
Dara Horn says, “Every person has a legacy. You may not know your impact, and it may not be something you can write on your tombstone, but every person impacts this world.”
Brett Eldredge says. “A legacy for me is being a piece of the soundtrack of someone’s life.”
In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury says, “Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, ” my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there.
That’s legacy: an interconnection across time, with a need for those who have come before us and a responsibility to those who come after us. “Legacy is about life and living. It’s about learning from the past, living in the present, and building for the future.
Molecules don’t connect the world. Stories, traditions, memories, hopes, and dreams connect it. The legacies connect us and are passed down from those who came before us, and the legacies we pass down to those who come after us.
